University of York Concert Orchestra

We are a non-auditioning orchestra based at the University of York that plays two concerts a year featuring a wide range of popular classical music.

We are a non-auditioning orchestra who performs many concerts a year. We play a wide range of music, from classical favourites to film scores. We meet on a Sunday evening, from 5pm-7pm, for a two-hour rehearsal with a break in the middle (biscuits provided!). Concert Orchestra is a good way to continue playing an instrument in an informal and social environment.

We welcome all students and you do not have to audition, although the recommended standard is around Grade 6.

Rehearsals are held in the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall. We look forward to seeing you there!
